FAWM Song – books & time

Under the cover of our imagination the dreamers sleep, / reality rises and takes over everything / Just the thought of our imagination the poets speak, / they all claim that all is lost / where is the imagination that we once had / it’s gone, never to return

In time, I’m rewriting the book on life / Reality is a staircase leading nowhere. / Where is my imagination / It’s gone, just like the days of yore

In the dying of time the memories journey, / we float away and die / Amongst the shadows of our imagination the poets escape, / no one is around to hear us scream / in the books we read, there’s nothing but the words / what happened to imagination / how can we go forward when we can’t look back, / what is the world coming to?

In time, I’m rewriting the book on life / Reality is a staircase leading nowhere. / Where is my imagination / It’s gone, just like the days of yore

Amongst the shadows of tears the poets turn, / back to the days when all was right / In the dream of our imagination the memories cry, / for the days that time can return / In the air of our imagination the seasons fade, / do we dare hope that reality can go away

In time, I’m rewriting the book on life / Reality is a staircase leading nowhere. / Where is my imagination / It’s gone, just like the days of yore

In time, I’m rewriting the book on life / Reality is a staircase leading nowhere. / Where is my imagination / It’s gone, just like the days of yore

So can we have our imagination back please?
